WITNESS APPEAL: Did you work for British Rail as a Copper Smith or at Copley Hill in Leeds between 1952 and 1965?

Our specialist asbestos claims team has been instructed by the family of a local gentleman who sadly developed and died from mesothelioma, an asbestos related cancer.

We are investigating how he may have come into contact with asbestos and are interested in speaking with anyone who worked for British Rail between 1952 and 1965, during which time the deceased worked for as a coppersmith in the engine sheds at Copley Hill in Leeds.

The deceased’s family are therefore appealing to anyone who worked for British Rail during this time to come forward to tell us what they remember about the work of a coppersmith, and/or the work carried out in the engine sheds at Copley Hill, Leeds.
