Withy King acquires local law firm

One of Oxfordshire’s fastest growing law firms has acquired a local practice in a move that will further strengthen its service to clients.

Withy King, which has offices in Oxford, Abingdon and Thame, has acquired Whetter Duckworth Fowler led by partners John Whetter and Peter Duckworth, and based in Wheatley.

Whetter Duckworth Fowler is known locally for its work in the field of Wills and inheritance tax, probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection as well as residential and commercial property conveyancing.

“We are delighted to welcome Whetter Duckworth Fowler on board,” said Andrew Chalk, head of residential property at Withy King. “The firm is well respected locally and its services complement our own offering which is centred on the needs of our clients, in business as well as at every stage of their personal lives.”

Peter Duckworth, property partner at Whetter Duckworth Fowler, added: “This is an exciting time for the firm and we look forward to introducing our clients to the breadth and depth of services that Withy King has to offer.”

The acquisition was completed on 29 November 2013.
