UK Employers issue Sickness Policy now ahead of the January Blues

The UK lags behind key European rivals such as Poland, France and Romania when it comes to managing sickness absence, reports Nic Paton of Personnel Today.

Does your organisation have a plan to beat the epidemic new years duvet days?

Caroline Doran, an employment expert at Royds LLP says:
“Some employers have already recirculated (or updated) their Absence Policy ahead of the annual bout of January Bluesitis. This is a timely and wise step as the BBC News reported several years ago that thirteen of the 20 most popular days for sickness absence occurred in January (six days of these between 2 and 9 January.)”
