Tech Sector Geared to Boost London’s Growth

As part of the week, thousands of the industry’s top technology professionals have been converging on London, to not only share new ideas and build relationships; but to also see what London has to offer for technology businesses.

Whilst the “Technology Week” has been going on, to help cement London’s title as the digital capital of Europe, a survey has suggested that the technology and creative sectors will boost London’s economy over the coming years.

The data, based on survey results of businesses already in London, have suggested that the technology sector – helped significantly by Tech City in the Old Street area of London – will boost the regions economy; whilst it has also been suggested that East London is set to experience the fastest growth over the coming years.

In addition to suggesting the technology and creative sectors will help boost growth in London’s economy; businesses across all sectors are confident of experiencing growth, with 65 percent stating they expect to see growth over the coming six months.

In a boost to the region, the data from the survey has also revealed that 80 percent of businesses operating within London, rate the region as good or very good to do business; although concerns were raised in relation to rising prices and lack of skilled staff available.

With the survey results suggesting that London’s economic growth is to be significantly boosted over the coming years by the technology and creative sectors, for those looking to start a new adventure by starting their own business in the region, whether in the tech sector or other sectors, our commercial and corporate lawyers at Royds can assist.
