Feet on the ground
If it wasn’t for Silverlining and the other Silverliners, I may not have experienced such wonderful things as learning to ski in a sit ski for the first time last year, sailing and going to Silver Summits at the climbing wall in Reading. I love adventure and think I’ve become a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
Royds Withy King have acted as my professional trustee and have advised me in the purchase and adaptation of my bungalow, as well as managing my compensation award.
Being part of the Silverlining Charity and having the support of my professional trustee, has meant that I have been able to work alongside people who have helped me achieve my goals, such as walking in public at a fashion show sponsored by Royds Withy King earlier this year.
What I would say to people affected by brain injury, is that you can achieve the unachievable and the sky really is the limit.
Tracy Norris-Evans, professional trustee, “We commissioned the film to celebrate MJ’s incredible journey. MJ is determined to live her life to the full and this is portrayed in the film, which shows footage of her skiing, sailing and conquering the climbing wall with her fellow Silverliners. Her dream came true when she took her first steps for ten years on the catwalk at the Silverlining fashion show in January.
We hope MJ’s courage and determination will inspire others, who may have suffered similar setbacks in their lives”.
