Motorcyclists are very exposed to the dangers of the road. Unfortunately, because of their vulnerability while riding a motorcycle, bikers often suffer terrible injuries; sometimes their injuries can be life-changing and result in substantial financial loss.
If you have been involved in a motorcycle due to the carelessness of another party, you may be entitled to make a claim for compensation.
We see our role as more than just obtaining a sum of money for you, as we can also assist with all aspects following a motorcycle accident, such as organising rehabilitation and care, assisting with arrangements for the replacement or repair of your motorcycle and equipment, or obtaining interim payments as your claim progresses which will cover any loss of earnings if you are unable to work.
The most common types of accidents involving motorcyclists we see are:
- road traffic accident involving other motorists
- filtering accidents
- accidents at junctions and roundabout
- hit and run accidents
- accidents caused by defective motorcycle equipment
- accidents caused by defective road surfaces such as potholes.
We have experience dealing with all types of motorcycle accidents and consequential injuries as a result of a motorcycle accident (from soft tissue injuries to traumatic brain injuries).

Are you eligible to make a claim for compensation?
To be successful in making a claim for compensation for a motorcycle accident, we must show that the other party is at fault for the accident and the accident has caused your injuries.
One of the most common questions we are often asked is ‘Will I be successful with a claim?’
At Royds Withy King, we will be happy to make a provisional assessment of the merits of your motorcycle accident claim on a free of charge basis to help you to decide whether to proceed with your claim.
How do you make a claim for compensation?
If you are thinking about making a claim, then you should contact a specialist solicitor. You have three years from the date of the accident or date of knowledge of your injury to bring a claim. Insurance companies may tell you otherwise, but you are free to choose your own solicitor.
It is also important that you are confident your chosen solicitor not only has experience in the field of personal injury but also understands the special circumstances that apply to motorcycle accident claims. We have specialists who deal specifically with motorcycle accidents and often take on cases non-specialists firms can’t (or won’t) deal with. This means you can be confident your claim is in good hands.
How can you pay for a motorcycle compensation claim?
At Royds Withy King, we offer a ‘no win, no fee’ agreement. This means if you lose your case; you do not have to pay our costs. More information on funding a compensation claim can be found here.
