Whatever may have caused you injury, if you live in the Manchester area and have experienced medical negligence our national team of specialist solicitors can help.

When you have experienced injury because of medical negligence, claiming compensation could help you secure yours and your family’s future.

Of course, you may be just as interested in seeking justice for your injuries. Many feel that bringing a claim will help to ensure that vital patient safety lessons are learned, and that this does not happen to anyone else.

Whether you are looking for financial security, justice, or both; our medical negligence specialists can help.

Our team operates across England & Wales, and so has experience bringing claims against medical institutions in and around Manchester. These include Central Manchester University Hospital, North Manchester General, Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, University Hospital of South Manchester, as well as other local medical practices for a variety of claims.

We also have experience across a range of injuries, and you can find out more about making a claim for these at the links below:

How do I know I have a medical negligence claim?

You may well have a medical negligence claim if the treatment or care you received has resulted in an injury, or should any existing condition have become worse due to that treatment. However, you will usually need to bring a claim within three years of the alleged negligent treatment, or three years from the date at which you became aware it was negligent.

There are exceptions to time limitations on claims though, including for children who have until their 21st birthday to bring a claim, or adults with mental difficulties who have no time limit on claims.

You can find out more about how we identify negligence and make a claim in our medical negligence guide.

How much compensation might I receive for a claim?

This will depend entirely on your particular circumstances. We will therefore need to speak with you first in order to assess the value of your claim.

You can find out more about how compensation is calculated here.

How can I pay for the legal costs?

Often medical negligence claims will proceed with a Conditional Fee Agreement (CFA), otherwise known as ‘No Win No Fee’ funding. This ensures that – should your case be unsuccessful – you will have nothing to pay.

We can also help with Legal Aid funding for particular cases involving children.

Find out more about how to fund a claim for medical negligence here.

How long will a claim take?

This depends on a number of factors, for example if the person or organisation you are claiming against denies there was a fault. However it can take years to reach a settlement in some cases.

You can find out more about this here.
