Royds Withy King strengthens Retail sector team
The Retail team at Royds Withy King, whose clients include Monsoon Accessorize, Smyths Toys and Scribbler, has announced the appointment of property lawyer Amie Dee.
Amie joins Royds Withy King’s London-based team from Steele Raymond LLP where she acted for retail landlords and tenants on a wide range of issues, including acquisitions and disposals of premises, expansions, relocations, lease renewals, surrenders, licences and re-gears.
She has acted for numerous brands over the years, including Footlocker, New Look and Specsavers and has been involved in high profile deals, such as advising the largest Costa Coffee franchise in the South of the UK on new site acquisitions.
Amie, who joins Royds Withy King as a senior associate, said: “In a challenging and uncertain market, retailers are looking for pragmatic advice and robust legal solutions so I am delighted to be joining Royds Withy King which has a strong reputation for thinking ahead for their clients and delivering quality work. It’s also exciting to be joining a firm that has ambitious plans to grow its retail sector offering nationally and internationally, building on its long track record of advising big brands as well as independent retailers.”
Bharat Nahar, partner and head of the Retail team at Royds Withy King, said: “Despite the uncertainties of Brexit and other factors re-shaping the retail landscape, we continue to see strong demand for professional advice on a wide range of business issues, ranging from property rationalisation and restructuring to store expansions, mergers and employment challenges. Amie will be an excellent addition to our growing team.”
Royds Withy King has around 500 lawyers and staff across offices in London, Bath, Oxford and Wiltshire. The firm has been named for the past five years as one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For.
