Royds Withy King strengthens its offering to Oxfordshire businesses with two new partners

Top UK 100 law firm Royds Withy King has strengthened its offering to the county’s businesses with the appointment of two new partners.

Emma Banister Dean has joined Royds Withy King’s Dispute Resolution team from professional services firm Knights while Iain Butler has joined the Corporate & Commercial team from national law firm Shoosmiths.

Commenting on their appointment, lead partner in the firm’s Oxford office Simon Bassett, said: “Royds Withy King is an ambitious firm that is rapidly building a reputation as lawyers ahead of the curve. Emma and Iain are very well respected in their fields and will be an asset to our business clients here in Oxfordshire as well as further afield. I’m delighted to welcome them to the firm and introducing them to our business networks.”

Emma Banister Dean is a highly experienced litigator with a strong reputation for acting for entrepreneurial businesses in and around Oxford and further afield. She has a particular focus on education law, acting for schools, further education colleges and universities across the UK. She is also a data protection specialist and will be part of the team advising clients on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into effect on 25 May.

Iain specialises in a wide range of corporate work including acting for entrepreneurial and fast growing privately-owned and listed businesses, private equity houses, management teams and high net-worth individuals. Having advised on a large number of high value corporate transactions, he also has particular experience advising on early stage start-ups and investments.
