Royds Withy King advises US based gifting company Designworks Collective on acquisition of Gentlemen’s Hardware brand
Our Corporate team, led by Partner Katharine Mortimer, has advised Nashville-based Designworks Collective on its purchase of the men’s gifting and lifestyle brand, Gentlemen’s Hardware.

Gentlemen’s Hardware has been sold by Bath-based Wild & Wolf, the award-winning design-led gifting company.
Gentlemen’s Hardware pioneered the launch of ‘men’s gifting’ at retail, with Wild & Wolf identifying a gap in the market for premium men’s gifting that offered an artisan alternative to mainstream fashion brands. Now, established for more than eight years, Gentlemen’s Hardware is stocked by over 4,500 accounts in more than 60 countries worldwide.
For more than 10 years, Designworks Collective has invested in new and innovative companies across the gifting and stationery sector. The acquisition of Gentlemen’s Hardware will complement Designworks Collective’s existing vibrant assortment of consumer brands including Paddywax, The Candle Bar, Firefly Candle Co., Designworks Ink, Olivina Men and Stay Golden, and aid Designworks Collective’s strategic expansion into the UK and European markets.
Designworks Collective will continue to work with current retail partners across the UK, Europe and US to build the Gentlemen’s Hardware brand and maintain its flagship status in global markets. The company will also be employing former Wild & Wolf team members.
Joseph Moore, CEO of Designworks Collective, said “We’re genuinely excited about the Gentlemen’s Hardware brand and eager to move forward with the great products they represent.”
