Royds Withy King advise on sale of ‘outstanding’ Bristol care home
Royds Withy King, a leading provider of legal services to the social care sector, has advised on the sale of an ‘outstanding’ CQC-rated care home in Bristol.

Ridgeway House is an independently and family operated care home providing specialist care for individuals with learning disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and profound learning disabilities in Bristol.
The sale follows the retirement of its owner, Elaine Leslie, who has operated the Ridgeway Care Home since it first opened in 1993. Ridgeway House has been purchased for an undisclosed sum.
The dedicated Social Care team at Royds Withy King advised on this sale, with the team led by Partner Hazel Phillips, supported by Dan Pinheiro and Zoe Pettigrew. Jim Duggan at chartered accountants Albert Goodman also advised the seller.
Commenting on the sale, Elaine Leslie, Managing Director of the Ridgeway House said: “We have provided a home for some of the most vulnerable people in our community for over 28 years, and whilst it is never an easy decision to make, now is the time for me to step down. The new owner shares the same vision for the home as I have and will continue to provide the high level of care for our fantastic residents.”
Hazel Phillips, Partner in the Social Care Team at Royds Withy King said: “We were delighted that Elaine put her trust in us to help her complete the sale of Ridgeway House. Elaine has been involved with this family business from the start and has built it to be the unique outstanding home that it is today. We wish her well as she moves onto new things.”
