The end of the annual return, PSC Register – what is it and what changes were made?
Since 6 April 2016, all UK companies (other than those subject to financial services requirements and certain listed companies) and LLPs have been required to keep a ‘Persons with Significant Control’ register (“Register”).

The Register identifies and makes public the ultimate beneficial owners and controllers of a company. Since 30 June 2016, the Register has been open for public inspection and is searchable at Companies House on a central database.
The changes were a consequence of the Small Business Enterprise and Employment Act 2015 (the “Act”). The aim of the Act was to create greater transparency in the ownership of companies.
We have prepared a guidance note summarising the Regulations and what the changes have meant for your business.
