Simon, now that both my divorce and financial settlement have been finalised,  I thought I’d write to thank you for your help and advice. Although I had an understanding of how things would most likely proceed and unfold, it was important to me for all involved, in particular my children, that every aspect was properly considered.  “Thank you very much for all your help throughout my divorce. When I married I never thought I would have to make such a painful decision but I’m extremely grateful for your carefully considered guidance and expertise. Your expert help has made this stressful period very much less traumatic than it might otherwise have been”
– Ms T, Client

“I been using Royds Withy King for close to 10 years for multiple services and have had my ongoing commitment and faith in them further rewarded in recent weeks, with the finalisation of an agreement in relation to my daughter.

My experience with the team and Simon Bassett in particular has been very positive, with Simon providing support, guidance and professionalism whilst also keeping a curb on emotional debate in what was  a complex situation.  Simon was able to secure my objective of minimising the  disruption to my daughter, ensuring continuity of contact, education and housing whilst still protecting my financial interests – all with the added complexity of a partner who is not a UK citizen added to the fact that I live overseas.

Communications throughout the process were concise and in timely fashion, intended to avoid confrontation between the parties and keep the process as focused as possible.  Counter communications were well handled and dispatched with professionalism, again avoiding any emotional debate and keeping the process on track.

Finally, the continuity in dealing with the same individual over these years has been a major reassurance and I must take this opportunity, once more, to thank Simon for the top quality work over the last 10 years”.
Mr V, Client

“Simon’s pragmatic, problem-solving approach is rooted in a rare combination of sound legal judgement, shrewd commercial acumen, astute strategic planning and client-focused manner.”
Damian Garrido, QC

The Legal 500 - The Clients Guide to Law Firms

A good family lawyer needs to be more than simply a lawyer. When a relationship breaks down, the solution is never a formula straight from the text book. It is about listening and understanding clients, thinking outside the box and finding a fair and amicable way forward. It’s about looking for fair treatment as well as a pragmatic solution. Giving my clients well-rounded advice is important to me, so I’ve built up a network of experts including accountants and actuaries who I work with to give clients the best advice which is most relevant to them.
