About Nicola

Nicola is a senior associate in our dispute resolution team and has experience in a wide range of commercial disputes. She is also a member of our Social Care team and advises care providers on contentious and regulatory health and social care issues.

Nicola has been a member of our dispute resolution team for over 10 years advising clients across all sectors on a wide range of commercial disputes.

Nicola’s typical instructions relate to professional negligence claims, contractual disputes, post-employment restraint of trade, boardroom and shareholder disputes and insolvency related matters.  She is regularly instructed by insolvency practitioners, financial advisers, technology and manufacturing businesses as well as individuals and SMEs.

In addition, Nicola also advises adult social care providers on contentious and regulatory issues.  This includes challenging CQC inspections and decisions as well as providing troubleshooting and crisis management advice.

  • acting for a firm of accountants in relation to a professional negligence claim against its IT provider following a data breach which resulted in substantial ransom payments to the cyber criminals to release and de-crypt their data;
  • acting for an individual in relation to the under-settlement of their claim by former solicitors as part of a group action arising from the failed purchase of overseas property;
  • acting for a property developer in a professional negligence matter against a surveyor for failing to fully identify the presence of asbestos within a building during pre-purchase enquiries;
  • acting on a shareholder dispute / unfair prejudice claim relating to a chain of pubs;
