About Jennifer

Jennifer qualified in 2008 and has specialised in acting for sufferers of asbestos-related diseases ever since. In the last few years Jennifer has recovered over £3 million in compensation for her clients, and is especially recommended by The Legal 500 UK for “asbestos-related claims”. Examples of awards she has reclaimed for her clients are:

  • £250k for a 62 year old man with mesothelioma who initially was unable to say where and how he was exposed to asbestos. Jennifer was able to find evidence to prove that he had been exposed to asbestos while working in a warehouse as a teenager. The steel beams in the warehouse had been sprayed with asbestos for fireproofing and the asbestos was damaged, causing fibres to emanate.
  • £150k for the family of a man with mesothelioma, exposed to asbestos while working at his father’s boat building company, part of the time as a director. The sufferer had instructed a solicitor during his lifetime but they were unable to secure compensation for him. His family instructed Jennifer following his death and she settled the claim within 15 months.
  • £185k for the widow of an electrician who developed lung cancer after being exposed to asbestos while repairing and replacing storage heaters in domestic properties.
  • £90k for the son of a man with asbestosis, discovered at post mortem. The deceased had pursued a claim for pleural plaques in the 1980s but all records had been destroyed. Jennifer uncovered evidence regarding the terms of settlement in the original claim but this created further complexities due to a long stop provision in the original terms. Jennifer was able to overcome the issues and settle the claim within 16 months.

Jennifer is a regular contributor on BBC Radio and has been interviewed on Action Mesothelioma Day. She has advised and assisted sufferers at a number of regional asbestos support groups. Jennifer also regularly attends the National Lung Cancer Nurses Forum and British Thoracic Oncology Group annual conferences.

Jennifer supports a number of charities. In 2015 she fundraised for Cancer Research UK by participating in their 5km ‘Pretty Muddy’ event. In 2014 she completed the 50km Thames Path Challenge, the team raising £3,200 for Mesothelioma UK.

In her spare time Jennifer enjoys weekly tap dancing and aqua aerobics classes. She loves to attend vintage fairs and festivals and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

The Legal 500 - The Clients Guide to Law Firms

I can’t imagine doing anything other than asbestos-disease litigation. My clients are always lovely people, who have worked really hard all their lives to be given the devastating news that they have developed an illness due to asbestos exposure. Often my clients have lost a loved one due to an asbestos disease and watched them suffer during their illness. Helping my clients to pursue claims and recover compensation can never replace their health or the loved one they have lost. However, I consider it vital that those responsible are brought to justice. I have dedicated my career to this work and my clients are my number one priority. It is a pleasure to use my skills and experience to assist them.
