Charlotte is a solicitor in the Employment Team based in Oxford. She advises both businesses and individuals on all aspects of Employment Law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Business Immigration.

About Charlotte

Charlotte joined Royds Withy King in 2014 and is now a solicitor in the Employment team. Charlotte is developing a strong presence within the firm’s GDPR team to complement her experience within employment law and is able to assist client’s with data protection issues. In addition, Charlotte regularly advises clients in respect of Business Immigration including issues in respect of sponsor licence and visa applications.

Work highlights

Charlotte’s recent successes involve:

  • successfully negotiating a 50% increase in a senior executives severance package
  • working with clients to prepare them for the implementation of the GDPR including substantive data mapping, producing bespoke privacy policies and delivering training to HR teams
  • advising a large international company on the amendment of their contractual sickness policy which included detailed assistance and advice in relation to consultation with staff


Charlotte is a member of the Employment Lawyer’s Association and Oxford Young Professionals.


Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys travel and going to the theatre.


Advising on employment law means that I get to work closely with both businesses and individuals to achieve a desired outcome. I enjoy understanding my client’s key goals and providing them with practical commercial advice specific to their needs to find the best solution which can often be in difficult circumstances.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 have now been in force for over 2 months. Since the 25th May 2018, our employment and privacy teams have seen a large increase in the number of clients who are receiving subject access requests from both staff and customers.
