New name for EU trademark department

From today (Wednesday, March 23rd), the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) has been renamed the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

The change was approved by European Union officials last December and the new name is designed to clarify the role of the department, which is responsible for registering trademarks across the 28-nation bloc.
