Jewellery & Watch London 2014

The event provided an excellent opportunity for buyers to discover beautiful jewellery collections and talented designers and for suppliers to showcase their collections. It was also a perfect occasion for buyers and suppliers to meet.

We had the opportunity to explore the Gallery and see some of the exquisite jewellery collections being exhibited amongst the contemporary artworks sourced from across the globe on display in the Gallery. It was quite a change from previous years at Somerset house. Of particular interest to us was the, as ever, stunning new collection by Royds’ client Sarah Jordan. Sarah is marking 25 years in the business with a collaboration with Welsh goldsmiths Clogau.

In the evening we toasted the winners of the inaugural BERING Buyers Power List, which recognises and rewards the industry’s best retailers and buyers, with canapés and champagne. The awards were sponsored by BERING, the UK Watch and Jewellery Awards Watch Brand of the Year 2013. The winners were:

  • Best Department Store: Fortnum & Mason
  • Best Independent Retailer: Johnny Rocket
  • Best Multiple Retailer: Beaverbrooks
  • Individual Buyer Category: Stuart Laing of Laings of Glasgow
  • Museum or Gallery Category: Victoria & Albert Museum

Congratulations to all the winners. We wish them a successful year ahead and look forward to next year’s event.

Congratulations also to Royds’ client James Boyd of Daisy and his wife on the imminent birth of their first child.

The next trade event in our calendar is IJL which this year moves to Olympia. We look forward to being able to assist clients and members of the BJA at this big and important international trade show, and to continuing our IP awareness initiative with Reed Exhibitions; PIPR.
