International Family Law Matters

During the day, the charity tweeted a different missing child’s appeal every 30 minutes for 24 hours, using a dedicated hashtag. The tweets were retweeted in their thousands, in an attempt to help unite missing children with their families.

However, the day was not just about children who have run away from home or have gone missing. It also focused on those children who have “gone missing” with parents following a divorce or separation.

It is estimated that the number of children who are taken abroad by a parent whilst on a contact visit is increasing, with an estimated 700 children being taken from England last year without the other’s parent’s consent.

At Royds, we specialise in international child related matters and understand and appreciate the emotional pressures and strains caused on children who have been abducted and those parents left behind.

We are member of the Interleges international network and we therefore have strong relationships with lawyers around the world and are therefore ideally placed to help resolve international disputes.
