Our firm is also a double finalist in the Small Deal of the Year category. Fidelius Financial Holdings’ simultaneous acquisition of Chartered Financial Management and Zen Wealth from, and sale of Parallel Investment Management to, Pacific Asset Management is recognised with a nomination. We were delighted to advise long-standing client Fidelius on the transaction alongside the corporate finance team from DC Advisory - you can read more on the deal here. The sale by WRc Plc of subsidiaries Water Research Centre and Cognica to RSK Group, on which we advised WRc alongside PwC and RSM, is also nominated.

The awards are run by Insider Media and bring together lawyers, corporate finance advisors, bankers and funders for a night of celebration.

The black tie dinner, which will take place on 15 September in Bristol, will salute the standout deals in the South West over the past year, recognising and rewarding the wealth of talent across its corporate finance and deal-making community.

The law firm has made the shortlist in recognition of its work and achievements in the region over the past 12 months.

James Worrall, a Partner in our Corporate team in the South West, said: “It has been a challenging year, with some initial economic headwinds resulting from the pandemic and the impact of government restrictions on all businesses. Covid has driven a significant shift in ways of working which we have embraced to support our clients as usual. We are delighted to see the team deliver a strong performance and then be recognised alongside some of the other leading advisory firms in the region. It’s testament to their hard work and some of the successful transactions with which we’ve been involved.

James Worrall, Partner – Corporate – at RWK Goodman.

“The Awards, and all of the nominations, demonstrate the strength of the South West market and some of the fantastic businesses that we have in the region. It’s also hugely encouraging to see the resilience of the South West business community over the past 18 months.

“The team has been very active in the past year and, once again, the South West Dealmakers Awards provide us with a strong opportunity to showcase our involvement in successful corporate finance transactions, particularly when it comes to complex M&A work in the region.”
