Solicitors gear up for cycling challenge in aid of Bath Rugby Foundation

Two Bath solicitors will be teaming up with some of the city’s best known rugby players to cycle 963 miles in nine days to help improve the prospects for disadvantaged young people.

Commercial property partner Paul Daniels and cycling law solicitor Mark Hambleton will be joining Bath Rugby’s David Flatman, Andy Beattie, Danny Grewcock and Lewis Moody as well as the Club’s President David Trick in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain event from John O’Groats to Lands End, from 8th to 16th June.

They are all cycling to raise vital funds for the Bath Rugby Foundation which enhances the lives of young people through sport, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Funded through donations and charitable giving, the Foundation aims to empower young people through sport, giving them the life skills and positive attributes to achieve better in school and on the playing field as well as equipping them for a brighter future.

“We feel the benefits of sport in many different ways in our personal and business lives and see it as having a crucial role in children’s development,” said Mark. “We would like to raise as much money as possible to help the Bath Rugby Foundation to continue their great work within our local community. It’s so rewarding to see how sport can change young people’s prospects by giving them the confidence, motivation and self-belief which they may never have otherwise discovered.”

Withy King offers all its employees two ‘charity’ days off a year. Paul and Mark are planning to use theirs to fundraise for the Foundation, starting with a sponsored leg wax in April.
