Royds joins Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme

City-based solicitors Royds LLP has been accredited to the Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS).

The scheme, which was set up by the Law Society earlier this year, is open to law firms which offer will drafting, probate and estate administration services.

The team had to undergo a rigorous assessment as part of their application and the accreditation demonstrates that Royds solicitors are committed to the highest standards of client service.

Tony Millson, head of Royds’ Private Client department, said: “We are delighted that our application to join the Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme has been successful.

“We know that drafting a will or making plans for your estate can be a daunting process and it is important that clients know that their solicitor will deliver the highest level of service and put their needs first.”

The Law Society said: “Anyone can set themselves up as a will writer, but only a law firm with qualified solicitors meeting high standards can be a member of WIQS.

“Solicitors are unparalleled in the will writing market as only they have the breadth of training to consider wider implications including tax and family law.”

Once a firm has been accredited, staff have to complete compulsory training and will be subject to random audits and annual reviews to ensure they’re maintaining the standards required.
