Family lawyer brings over two decades of experience to RWK Goodman

A family lawyer with over 25 years’ experience has joined the Swindon office of RWK Goodman as a senior associate.

Kit O’Brien has joined RWK Goodman’s 31-strong Family team from Slee Blackwell solicitors based in Taunton. She has worked for firms in Somerset, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire over her extensive career and specialises in divorce proceedings, civil partnership dissolutions and resolving the complex financial issues which arise during a relationship breakdown.

Kit is a member of the Law Society accredited family law panel and is a trained mediator and a collaborative lawyer.

Speaking about her appointment to RWK Goodman, Kit said: “I’m passionate about ensuring that each of my clients gets a service tailored to them. I don’t do ‘one size fits all’. My aim is to support each client through whatever their journey brings, helping them achieve a sensible, fair and cost-effective outcome. I have had a lot of experience dealing with farmers and business owners and their spouses, as well as cases involving police officers and military personnel which often bring their own sets of challenges and circumstances.”

She continued: “I am really excited to have joined RWK Goodman. The firm has a fantastic Family team across its network of offices and it’s great to be a part of that and share in their ethos, which is all about supporting clients with a personal approach and providing the best possible service.”

Outside of work, Kit enjoys reading, music and theatre. She is also ‘mum’ to a brood of chickens and is learning to play the drums.
