A Big Week for CRPS

On Tuesday 27 November CRPS-UK, the CRPS charity we continue to support, are holding a conference in London to help those suffering with CRPS, and their families. The event is focussing on living and learning with CRPS. This is an afternoon seminar and features speakers from academic and clinical backgrounds who will share the latest research, developments and best practice in their fields of neuro-modulation, pharmacology and physiotherapy. There will also be two speakers who have CRPS, talking about their experiences of living with the condition. The schedule looks fantastic, and events such as these are great for those suffering with CRPS to meet others who have an understanding of the condition.

The day after the conference sees another busy day for CRPS-UK. On Wednesday 28 November, they will be attending the CRPS Drop In with MPs in Parliament. This is a joint event in conjunction with Ruth George MP and another CRPS charity, Burning Nights, and will run for over two hours in hope of raising awareness of CRPS amongst MPs. It is a great opportunity to make MPs aware of the more specific issues that surround the condition that MPs could help with, such as the fact that long diagnosis times lead to poorer outcomes and the lack of funding for research and treatments for CRPS.

CRPS remains a poorly understood condition, so raising awareness is very important. To have this opportunity to visit Parliament and be listened to by MPs interested in making a difference is such a positive step forward in raising awareness of this debilitating condition.

Our relationship with CRPS-UK continues to grow as we understand the condition and act on behalf of patients who often feel at a loss after they have been diagnosed with CRPS. We are very proud to support the charity as the work they do is so valuable for CRPS sufferers.
