£975,000 compensation for a 55 year old woman who contracted sepsis

K, who was 48 at the time of incident, attended her GP with a rash and flu like symptoms caused by infection with Group A streptococcus (Strep A).

Unfortunately, there were a series of missed opportunities to diagnose and treat the infection which progressed to sepsis, cardiac arrest and brain damage.

As a result of the brain damage, K has difficulties with balance and movement. She also experiences difficulties with communication, concentration, loss of executive function and depression. K is no longer able to work and requires care.

With her compensation, K is now able to afford additional support to help her with the activities that she is no longer able to do herself.  It will also compensate her for her loss of earnings and enable her to access the best therapies and equipment.
