Increase in London Tech Start-Ups

Author headshot image Posted by , Partner

Figures published earlier this year revealed that the number of technological and digital companies which have started within London increased from less than 50,000 in 2009, to nearly 90,000 in 2012 – with the last two years continuing to see a steady rise.

One of the reasons for the increase in technological and digital businesses starting up in London is due to the growing reputation of Tech City, which according to additional figures has seen an unprecedented number of technological start-ups launch in London.

According to the latest figures, as a result of the growing reputation of Tech City combined with the improving economic climate within the UK, a number of foreign start-ups have relocated to London; whilst a number of home-grown start-ups have also relocated to be in and around Tech City.
