Factory Output Grows

According to the latest figures, during April manufacturing and industrial output within the UK experienced an increase, with the former being helped by a boost in transport equipment, electronic products, rubber and plastic.

Overall, compared to figures for March, manufacturing output within the UK experienced a rise of 0.4 percent; taking it to 4.4% on the year-on-year figures; whilst industrial output also saw a rise of 0.4 percent on March, and a year-on-year rise of three percent.

However, whilst the latest figures have revealed that in April both manufacturing and industrial output within the UK experienced growth, overall the figures are still down by seven percent compared to pre-recession levels.
