Your questions on our costs and the process answered below

To help you through what can be an uncertain time, we have outlined the likely costs. We will provide advice and support to enable you to confidently complete your application for indefinite leave to remain or for naturalisation/British Citizenship, and at the end of the process charge you an agreed fee for our work. Where VAT is stated to be payable this is currently at a rate of 20%.

How much does it cost?

The fee range for assisting you to apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK is from around £1,500 +VAT to £2,000 +VAT. The exact fee will depend on:

  • your circumstances and whether you have sufficient and lawful residence in the UK to meet the immigration rules
  • whether you have criminal convictions, and if so, how serious they are
  • the amount of supporting evidence that we need to consider
  • which language(s) you speak
  • whether you are applying with your spouse and or children. There will be a separate charge for your dependants.
What can I do to keep my costs down?

If you are able to provide clear instructions and sufficient evidence at our first meeting to meet the applicable immigration rules, the cost is likely to be at the lower end of this range.

Who will be carrying out my application?

If you choose to instruct us, it is highly likely that Kate Benefer or Olivia Coles in our Business Immigration team will either head up or closely supervise your application process. You can see our Immigration Team here.

What services are included?

The work will involve:

  • one meeting with you to discuss your circumstances, provide advice on the immigration rules and whether you meet the criteria to apply for indefinite leave to remain or naturalisation. If you do not fulfil certain criteria, whether this can be overcome. This meeting generally lasts between two to three hours.
  • considering the supporting evidence you have provided. This is usually the most time-consuming part of the application process as you have to demonstrate your lawful residence in the UK.*
  • where necessary, helping you to obtain further evidence (such as medical records and bank statements). However you will be liable for any disbursements payable to third parties in respect of such further evidence
  • preparing your application and assisting you to submit it
  • giving you advice about the outcome of the application and any further steps you need to take.

*the length of time depends on the number of documents we are asked to review, whether they need to be translated, whether you have provided originals or copies, if any are missing, and how long it will take to obtain the missing documents.

What is not included in the price range given?

Any Home Office fees for making the application. You will pay this fee to the Home Office directly as part of the application process

We do not handle any of these additional transactions or disbursements, and you will be required to make these payments yourself, however if you need any assistance or guidance then we will be able to help you.

How long will my application take?

We will normally be able to submit this type of application within 3 weeks of you instructing us, but we will let you know at the earliest opportunity if it is likely to take longer than this.

We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application. Read the current processing times.
