Two new partners for our Health and Social Care team

Two lawyers with extensive experience of the healthcare and social care sectors have joined RWK Goodman as partners.

James Sage and Hazel Phillips have joined our Health and Social Care team from Burroughs Day in Bristol, bringing with them a long track record of advising care providers, pharmacies, dental practices and GPs.

Their appointments signal further expansion for the team which was strengthened recently through the appointments of senior associate Aman Hart and associate Ruth Bowen.

James specialises in providing advice on employment law, CQC registration and compliance and safeguarding. He also regularly speaks at regional and national care conferences.

Commenting on his appointment, James, whose work is described as ‘excellent’ by the Legal 500, said: “I am extremely pleased to have joined RWK Goodman and its successful Health and Social Care team. We can provide clients with a complete legal service which gives them peace of mind that they are fully compliant so they can concentrate on doing what they do best – running successful businesses delivering the highest levels of care and support.”

Hazel advises on CQC registration; challenging CQC inspection reports and enforcement action; sales, mergers and acquisitions; partnership agreements; safeguarding, fees and funding.

Speaking about her appointment, Hazel said: “I am delighted to be part of a team which puts clients at the centre of everything they do and provides a personal and service-orientated experience. I really enjoy meeting new clients, getting to know them and helping them to achieve their goals. It's important to me to take time to understand how my clients’ businesses operate so that I can become part of their team, someone they can trust and count on, and this is very much reflected in the ethos of RWK Goodman.”

Our Health and Social Care team works with clients across the UK, providing a seamless service from our network of offices in London, Bath, Swindon, Marlborough and Oxford.
